Attack Theatre's mission is to create community with artists and audiences through the process and production of personal, accessible, collaborative dance based performance. Blending varied art forms with dynamic contemporary dance, Attack Theatre creates passionate portrayals of everyday life. From the interactive and site-specific First Night performances - to helping Physical Education instructors create connections between a gallop and a chassé - to creating an action alphabet with 1st graders - to a year-long movement workshop with seniors from throughout the city - to hosting community performances/events in our shared space with Pittsburgh Opera in the Strip District - Attack Theatre is relentless in the pursuit of community interaction.
All Attack Theatre education and community engagement programs focus on activating and empowering participants to view and experience dance, movement and music as a natural and essential part of living and learning.
"Attack Theatre was very engaging and powerful, the kids are still talking about the balance and catching someone who is much larger than they are. My kids are in awe of the performers and the performance."
