Sarah Kramer
Executive Director
Sarah Kramer believes in the power of bringing artists, ideas, and audiences together – and knows firsthand what it takes to make that magic happen. A leader, collaborator, and dancer, Sarah brings a career spanning multidisciplinary performing arts, with an understanding of the creative and operational work that makes ambitious arts programming possible. Her approach to leadership is rooted in collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a belief in building structures that allow artists and arts organizations to thrive.
Most recently, Sarah served as Senior Director of Artistic Operations at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where she led the planning and execution of multidisciplinary programming across multiple venues. During her tenure, she worked across artistic production, marketing, and development to support more than 1,500 annual performances, festivals, special programming initiatives, and nationally televised productions.
Before joining the Kennedy Center, Sarah spent six years at Dance Place in Washington, D.C., as Artistic Programming Manager and Development Associate. There, she curated and managed artists for the organization’s main stage, festivals, and public programming, while cultivating partnerships with national and international arts organizations.
Not just a seasoned leader, Kramer is an artist at heart — with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from University of Maryland. She has also danced professionally both in the D.C. region and internationally.
Now, as Attack Theatre’s new Executive Director, Sarah brings together her experience as an arts leader and her perspective and passion as a performer, championing people, partnerships, and possibilities that make creative expression possible.
