WILL VANSLANDER
COMPANY DANCER
Will is the recipient of a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a concentration in Performance and Choreography from Slippery Rock University. He is trained in modern, tap, jazz, house, breaking, popping, ballet, floorwork, and Afro-Colombian dance, and has taught paid masterclasses in many of these styles.
Will has trained with a variety of names such as Jennifer Keller, Lindsay Viatori, Nora Ambrosio, Erin Kouwe, Melissa Teodoro, Ursula Payne, Jesse Factor, Irishia Hubbard Romaine, Emmalee Halinan, Teena Marie Custer, John Lehrer, Cameron Mckinney, and many others. He has learned and performed in a variety of repertory and residency work as well as both performing and creating various types of studio choreography.
Will was a senior co-leader of Palenque, a pre-professional dance company focusing on Afro-Colombian dances from throughout history. Through this company he’s had the opportunity to perform at schools, festivals, cultural events, and a host of other celebrations and venues, as well as perform in various events in Colombia.
Additionally, Will is currently on faculty at Crossroads Dance Academy where he teaches tap, modern, and hip-hop/street dance as well as choreographing various group and solo pieces for their competition team.
